Alright Mamas, we got through the essentials for the first six months. Now I am covering essentials needed for 6-9 months! I loved this stage SO much. Kennadi’s personality was really starting to develop and there was some new skill or sound every week. There aren’t a ton of items that you absolutely need in this stage but I listed the ones that we loved and will absolutely be using for future babies.
What 6-9 Month Must Haves do I Really Need?
Your little one might start becoming active in this stage; it won’t hurt to be prepared for when they are speed crawling everywhere! If you are reading this while you are still pregnant, I recommend adding these items to your registry so you don’t have to purchase it later on your own.

- Wearable Blanket / Sleep Sack
We stopped “swaddling” Kennadi and transitioned completely to wearable blanket/sleep sack. We started with the Nested Bean and really loved it for the weighted chest area. However, she grew out of it pretty quickly so we started using Halo Sleep Sacks. We love them and are still using them at 13 months old! I love that they offer both cotton and fleece options to accommodate for the season and weather.
2. Bath Seat
Kennadi was starting to outgrow her Angel Care tub so it was time to install the bath seat. We loved the Summer Infant Bath Seat. You can start using it around 5 months; your little one doesn’t have to be able to sit unsupported as this seat offers plenty of support! It is extremely easy to install in your bathtub and makes bath time really fun as your baby can easily play with bath toys since they are sitting up in the seat. I was super bummed when she started trying to climb out of it (around 10 months) and we had to remove it (talk about a whole new level of stress using nothing but a huge tub!)
My husband’s coworker gave us this high chair and at first we weren’t sure we would use it… Oh my goodness, we have used it at least 100 times! This portable chair is the BEST to bring to any relative or friend’s house. You can use it as just a seat for your baby or as the intended use as a high chair. I seriously cannot say enough amazing things about this chair. Any time we have brought it to events or someone’s house, we get tons of questions and comments about how neat it is!

We did register for a shopping cart cover and we finally got to use it! Kennadi was finally stable and big enough to sit in the shopping cart. This cover has rings to attach toys to which will keep your baby entertained.
Kennadi really loved to put weight on her legs so we bought this jumper activity center and she was fascinated by it. She would jump in it like crazy! I will say, the hype with this was over within two months. Could just be Kennadi’s personality but I recommend searching Marketplace for a used one before buying full price.
Once your baby starts solids, it is recommended to also offer them water with meals. My sister-in-law recommended the Munchkin 360 sippy cups and they were perfect. One little tip (may or may not have learned from own experience), the top piece of rubber does come off… make sure to remove it and clean it each day or you may end up finding mold one day!
